Other Relaxation Exercises - good for managing pain and strong emotional distress
Introduction to Relaxation ( 7 minutes)
Safe Place (23 minutes) - Track 1
After a 10 minute general relaxation exercise, I will guide you in a visualisation involving your own special place where you feel relaxed and at peace.
Light Stream (10 minutes) - Track 2
In this exercise, you will be visualising a stream of healing light that will be soothing any upsetting feelings and body sensations.
Pendulation Exercise (15 minutes) -Track 3
This exercise is particularly helpful to use with chronic pain conditions as well as emotional distress. Following some relaxation breathing, I guide you in a process of swinging your attention back and forth between a place of refuge in your body and the place where you feel the most discomfort.
